Matt’s Week 6 College Football Picks

I have been successful to start the College Football season betting against the spread, and will begin to share my picks here for free along with the other 2 College Player Pool experts. Our expertise is the NCAA Basketball Tournament, but we aren’t too shabby so far this season in football. All of our plays will be in 1 to 5 unit increments. As the season goes on, you will generally see the unit size increase as our confidence level increases. We recommend that a unit be approximately 1% of your betting bankroll. We will also have occasional experts chime in with their guest picks, and those will be sorted separately in our records.

Matt’s Record YTD: 13-9 for +6.6 units.

LSU -13.5 vs. Florida / 3 units

LSU has proven it is a top 2 team by beating up on both Oregon and West Virginia. Florida is facing its first true road test with an unproven backup QB going into Death Valley. The line wasn’t posted until Tuesday, and when it was, sharps pounced on LSU.  LSU’s D will force the turnovers and ride the momentum to win this game easily. This would be a 3 unit play, but surprisingly, Les Miles is only 3-18 ATS as a home favorite in SEC play. After this, he should improve that to 4-18.  LSU wins here 31-13.

Auburn +10 @ Arkansas / 3 units

Both of these teams have looked pretty average this year and both are coming off of big wins away from home.  Gus Malzahn and the Auburn offense should be able to go toe to toe with this weak Arkansas D. Gene Chizik is 7-0 ATS as a 10 to 16 point underdog. He always has his team ready to play in conference rivalries. Take the double digit dog here in a match up of two evenly matched teams. Arkansas wins 38-35.

Stanford -29.5 vs. Colorado / 2 units

Stanford is 9-0-1 ATS in their last 10 games. They have won these 10 games by an average of 30 points. Throw in the fact that Colorado’s secondary is extremely depleted with injuries and suspensions, this game won’t be pretty. Stanford wins this 52-7.

Notre Dame -14 vs. Air Force / 1 unit

Notre Dame started off slow, but the talent is there. They just needed to learn to win, and get a QB in place who can manage the game late. Notre Dame’s run D matches up well with a team like Air Force, and Air Force hasn’t seen an attack like Notre Dame yet this year. Notre Dame 38-17.

Texas A&M -8 @ Texas Tech / 1 unit

A&M has the talent here. They’ve led the last 2 games at half before a second half meltdown. Texas Tech can’t stop anyone and has had to have come from behind wins against both Nevada and Kansas. Those teams are not Oklahoma St. and Arkansas. A&M should win this fairly easily. Texas A&M 52-38.
